San Pedro Garza Garcia, N.L. Mexico, June 27, 2017 – Vitro, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV: VITROA), a leading North American glass producer headquartered in Monterrey, Mexico published advances in sustainability, within which it integrated; Programs, actions, recognitions and goals in ethics, environment, quality of life and community engagement.
Among the most important advances of 2016 are:
• 9 years recognized as a Socially Responsible Company.
• 100% of the employees trained in the Code of Ethics.
• 6 plants certified in quality with regulations like TS16949 and ISO 9001.
• 11,407 direct jobs at the end of 2016.
• More than 300 education, health, and social development programs.
• 96,841 tons of recycled glass.
• 76,437 GJ of energy consumption acquired from renewable sources.
• 69,455 trees planted with volunteering Naturally Vitro.
With this actions, Vitro reinforces its commitment to contribute to the economic development of its environment, balancing it with its social responsibility to the community.

For more than 100 years, Vitro has contributed to sustainable development through its products, and according to its philosophy, one of its priorities has been to give back to the communities where it operates, through the promotion of education and culture. Thus, the actions and programs in conjunction with the institutions Formación Educativa A.C., the Glass Museum and Vitro Parque El Manzano continue.

The annual report, titled Steadfast towards a sound future, follows the G4 methodology of the Global Reporting Initiative and has external verification of the information presented. The document includes the work done from January 1 to December 31, 2016, under the Vitro Sustainability Model.
